Does anyone have any feedback on this property? It looks amazing online and is generally very well reviewed on trip advisor (although not too many current reviews) Anyways, i am close to pulling the trigger for my honeymoon in august, and wanted some assurance as well as any info on which Villas to request. Thanks.
PS - the 4 seasons seychelles is another option, so feel free to include experiences there as well! Thanks.

I have not stayed at Maia. We like the for seasons - nice villas and great beach. For your honeymoon definately request a villa on the hillside with a great view and good privacy. Some are too close to busy road for my taste so you have to get the right villa. Also the spa was lovely. We thought the food just ok, but it may have improved.
We love north Island and frigate island, but they are pricey and not for everyone.

I have the same question!!! I'll be going on a fun trip to Seychelles with my girlfriends, we have booked 4 nights at Raffles, 2 nights at Constance Lemuria, 4 nights at Four Seasons and 2 nights at Banyan Tree.
I'm thinking about cancelleing Banyan Tree and maybe moving to Maia or Desroches Island instead.
I've sent inquiry and e-mail to Desroches Island but haven't heard back from them....anyone stayed there before? thoughts?

when are you going? I was informed that banyan tree in august was no good as the waves would make the beach unswimmable. Let me know what you find out regarding Maia. I have heard great things about Desroches by the way.

I'm going in April, so hopefully the weather would be great !!!!!!!
I'd prob. go for a few nights in Desroches and visit Maia instead since I'm already spending a week in Mahe at Four Seasons & Banyan Tree !

sounds great! if you remember, shoot me a message or something when you get back? I'd love to hear about Maia versus 4 seasons (for a honeymoon). Have a great trip.

Four Seasons moved us to the Maia for our honeymoon when they were unable to open in time. We has a very good overall xperience, but I wouldn't rush to go back. We were given a beachfront villa. We saw no one else on the beach over one week. Villas are vey private, despite being on the beach, we saw no one the entire time. The villas on the hills are reported to be more private though. Out butler let is know that Russian's tend to take over several of the villas at a time, fly in escorts, and party for the entirety of their time there with DJ's etc., in the beachfront villas. The Thai gaff wasn't too into the partying, but the owners obviously love the cash flow it brings in. Everything's flown/boated in from UAE. butler prepared breakfast is great. The remainder of the meals are decent, and expensive. Meals in the restaurant were painfully slow and mediocre. There were one or two restaurants that the butler recommended we try where tired of the hotel dinner, and they were fine, but typical Caribbean quality fish grills. The butler's boss was brought in from Las Vegas.
