Hilton HHonors - 500 mile bonus

I had four stays at Hamptons in January but only one posted this 500 mile bonus. I know at least 2 of the others were reserved online in December. When they say the room has to be BOOKED after Jan 1st, reservations made prior to that don't qualify? If so that sounds like nitpicking since the stays were completed during the promo period.

Yeah, I admit it reads that way, was just hoping http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif that the stays would receive the 500 POINTS and wondered about anyone elses experience. I made some reservations in Florida last year for February. Guess I might as well see if the properties still have availability at the same rates and book new rooms/cancel the old ones. With 4 more stays coming up, no reason to give up 2000 potential points.

Good plan, just make sure you book the new ones before canceling the old ones.

I found out the hard way, too. Booked in Nov and Dec for trips in Jan and Feb so I was out of luck, room types unavailable to re-book with VISA. Not only must you book after Jan 1, you must reserve with VISA and pay with VISA. But using the HH Amex vs HH VISA just about makes up the difference anyway. Now we know...

Hmmmm.... My stay (checked out yesterday morning) was booked after January 1, but booked with a MasterCard. After I checked in, I later had them change the credit card on the folio to my Visa. The Visa bonus points just showed up tonight along with all the other points for that stay.

I booked with Amex and paid with Visa. Got the 500 mile bonus, too.

Just noticed my account was credited with the 500 points for the VISA promo. I reserved in Dec with HH AMEX in my profile but paid at checkout with HH VISA. Glad to see they aren't such sticklers this time.

The Hilton HHonors American Express Platinum card earns 5 points per dollar whereas the Hilton Visa earns 3 points per dollar. So if your stay is over $250 and you have the the American Express card, you will end up with more points by using it instead of using the Hilton Visa with the 500 bonus points.

Good point. Fortunately, my stays were all under $150. I probably would have used my cashback AMEX I'm concentrating on this year if not informed by the OP. Thanks for posting about this bonus!
