Any experiences with REDJet (www.flyredjet.com)? It appears that they are adding more routes.

They have recently added BGI - SXM and BGI-AUA (twice weekly). I would think that this would eventually have to drive down prices for Liat and Caribbean Air, which are outrageous.

Yep, according to today's e-newsletter that I received from Air Transport World, they are now out of business.....

Service is "suspeneded". I suspect that is carefully chosen wording, ad REDJet likely is trying to leverage for government subsidies. Anything that might help the tourism industry, and therefore the economy as a whole, in the Caribbean is sure to garner popular support.

I really doubt they will get back in the air what with the support Caribbean (the old Bee-wee) and LIAT receive in that part of the world if my past experiences in Port of Spain are any indication.....

REDJet apparently is still negotiating with the Barbados government for a subsidy:

Trinidad has revoked REDjet's operating license (http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20120331/business/business1.html). Could be political as the Trinidad government owns BW.

Indeed.....appears to be business as usual down in Port of Spain.

Not very surprising, actually....I've spent quite a bit of time in POS.
