I am in the process of purchasing an AONE4 ex-JNB.
I originally booked it about 2 months ago (with a one month hold) at 15 segments via the AA RTW desk. Total price ZAR 78850. (Base fare was ZAR 72940).
I stupidly let the booking lapse and rebooked it last week now as a 16 segment itinerary (the segment I added was SEA-DFW-ORD, replacing SEA-ORD, all else unchanged) with a 10 day hold (the agent wasn't very friendly). I've got the new price it and now it comes to total price ZAR 84140! (YQ 9000 Rand) Base fare is unchanged. When I put the fare into to online tool it comes out at ZAR 87000. (In the past the prices quoted by the RTW desk have been significantly cheaper than the online tool.)
I can't work out why the price has gone up 5000 rand in what I assume are YQ charges.
So my question is: can I ask for a recalculation of the fare by the rate desk, and is it worth it? It will be the end of the month in 36 hours, and I don't want to risk a jump in the base price. (I'm probably being too greedy and should just pay the quoted price and be grateful!)
Thanks for any thoughts,
