Just like your view on ANZ's standard economy class, how does it compare to other carriers in your view?

I haven't flown them since 2004 when I got an award to Japan on the old programme. Maybe unless we could get a ANZ GAS ticket. Always preferred to fly Singapore Airlines as did my friends. I gather is it better than US based airlines. How about AC, CX, OZ, KR?

Many thanks.

It really depends which plane you're flying on. I think the 777-200 is one of the nicer long-haul economy products, especially the "soft product" (meals, service, etc), though be warned the armrests don't go all the way up on this product. The 777-300 is dire, and I can't in good faith recommend the Y product there at all--I haven't even flown it, but it LOOKS awful (I did go for a wander back when I was travelling in PE once).

Short haul (trans-tasman, Pacific Islands) the economy product is fine. Having the IFE in every seat back is nice, and you can choose to buy the food (or not). Service is usually good, IME.

NZ's 777-200 Y product is superior to OZ's 777-200 Y product-the IFE on OZ is rubbish and there's only two toilets in between the Y cabins as opposed to NZ which has four there.
