I'm not sure what's your question. The check-in process only take a few minutes. And you need to check-in at least 1 hr before international flight. Please refer to ANA's website http://www.ana.co.jp/wws/us/e/asw_common/checkin/checkin_counter/index.html and http://www.ana.co.jp/wws/us/e/wws_common/guide/plantrip.html for more information. There is a separate check-in area for *G (zone A -the former ANA F check-in area). I've never had to wait and there are usually a few desks open, so even if a few *G arrived simultaneously you wouldn't have to wait very long and you could even begin to self-check with the kiosks there instead. As cchuang1980 says - it won't take more than a few minutes. Security is normally quick as well (no fast lane for *G though) and exit immigration might involve a wait of a couple of minutes too. Security was once backed up a bit, so I just went over to the south wing (which is empty in the morning, not sure about other times of day though) and went straight through security there. Basically, if you arrive in legal time (1 hour before departure time), you'll have no problems. If you want to spend time in the lounge or go shopping, allow more time. There is a fast security lane for NH, its a small corridor behind the F-class check-in that feeds to the F security. You need to ask for a pass for it at check-in though, the corridor dragon can be pretty strict. I thought that was just for NH elites - but there is a *G symbol on the ANA website about this (https://www.ana.co.jp/wws/japan/e/asw_common/amc/reference/elite/p_3.html#a05). I wonder why they don't just offer the passes at check-in if everyone is entitled and I haven't been offered these when travelling in C either. I shall be asking next time.:D Thank you for the tip. armagebedar Feb 26, 12, 11:27 pm There is a fast security lane for NH, its a small corridor behind the F-class check-in that feeds to the F security. If you're an NH elite (PLT and above) there's no need for a pass, but I'm not sure about non-NH *G passengers. And yes, the employee at the entrance is usually strict (but unfailingly polite) as is the norm for NH -- a good thing because it keeps wait times at priority security to a minimum! And yes, the employee at the entrance is usually strict (but unfailingly polite) as is the norm for NH -- a good thing because it keeps wait times at priority security to a minimum! To follow up on this, there is no fast track security for *G at NRT - I was told last week that it is only for NH elite (PLT, DIA, SFC) and there are signs to that effect at the entrance. On check-in they told me they had passes, but they weren't supposed to give out passes to mere non-NH *Gs (not sure who they are for then). I guess it's worth asking, but normal security has never been that slow for me. 5khours Jun 29, 12, 9:44 am Regular security is very quick. Never waited more than a couple of minutes. Sometimes it's faster than the F security. NewbieRunner Jun 30, 12, 6:22 pm Security is normally quick as well (no fast lane for *G though) and exit immigration might involve a wait of a couple of minutes too. I agree security is usually quick but I usually have to wait a lot longer than a couple of minutes for exit immigration. Trouble is you have to pick a line which seems straightforward. If there's someone in front of you taking a long time to be allowed through (I've no idea why they are so concerned about non-Japanese passport holders leaving the country ) you could be in the queue for a long time. One good thing about NRT is airline employees will come looking for pax stuck in exit immigration queues when it's time for boarding. |
