Europe - Drive from Milan to Les Deux Alpes?

I'm traveling to Les Deux Alpes in March, flying through Milan from JFK. Was originally planning on connecting to Lyon, but the layover is 4 hours and from Lyon it is still a 2 hour drive to Les Deux Alpes.

Has anyone made the drive from Milan to Les Deux Alpes? Is it an easy drive? I have some time to kill so is there anything I should see along the way?

Thanks

I've done the drive a few times. It's no big deal, though as i'm assuming you're doing this in winter I would just check that you have chains with you and that you know how to drive in snow, in case the weather should turn out to be bad.

Otherwise it's a pleasant drive and quite pretty. You could stop in Turin to see the old centre, though otherwise there's not that much to see on the route in my opinion.

Where do I get chains for a rental car in Milan? Do rental agencies have them?

The rental agencies should be able to include these with the car. Though this could be expensive. You could pick up a set at a motorway rest stop or alternatively the Conforama (discount/retail store) close to MXP should have chains and is pretty convenient to get to from the airport.

Conforama near Malpensa's address is:
Via Sempione, 63
21029 Vergiate (Varese), Italy
