Africa - Long transit at Adis Ababa airport (ADD)

I've got a long transit (almost 12h) between flights at ADD airport.

I will have access to the cloud 9 lounge, but that's not going to fill 9 hours.

Any advice on how to spend this time leisurely?. Any good restaurants? interesting things to do/see at the AP? etc.

I'm afraid that 12 hours is going to be a long time stuck in ADD. While the airport is certainly above average by African standards there really isn't much to see or do. Depending on what time of day you're there I might suggest heading into the city and checking out the National Museum (where "Lucy" is stored) and then hang out at one of the cafes or restaurants along Bole road. I believe most nationalities can get a visa on arrival for $50.
