I was flying Hobart to Melbourne on Jetstar and then on to Singapore but JQ changed the flight time and I no longer meet the minimum connecting time. Reduced connect time to 1 hr 30 minutes.

It appears that if I take DJ that the connecting times are OK - 2 hours 5 minutes.

1. Will DJ interline baggage to QF?

2. If not, can I make the connection if I need to retrieve my bags and recheck with QF for the international flight?

I can not answer your question about interlining luggage to QF international. It should be okay, in HBA they are used to alot of people checking in with international connections. Perhaps give DJ at Hobart airport a call.

If no interlining, you will most likely make the flight but it will be tight. QF allow check in up to 60 minutes prior to the flight, but anything below 90 minutes and you are cutting it fine.

DJ bags usually appear about 15 minutes after landing, but if there is bad weather or lots of flights arriving at the same time it can take up to 30 minutes. DJ luggage to QF check in is a short distance if you know where are you are going.

You really do not want the DJ flight to be late leaving HBA.

Would the DJ->QF connection be on the one booking?

DJ will never interline to anything that is not on the same ticket, even if it is DJs partner. In my experience, Hobart's staff is particularly good in enforcing this policy.

125 mins in MEL is doable, but only if everything goes OK. I presume these would be two different tickets? If yes and flight from HBA is delayed, you are on your own...

All flights would be same record but QF flight is part of a round the world ticket and DJ flight would have to be purchased separately. Interlining would be key item to reduce stress of making the QF connection.

My understaning of DJ's policy is that it has to be on the same ticket and that it is not enough to be on the same PNR, but I might be wrong.
