I don't get this....while perusing the Member Award book, I noticed:

Mount Juliet: An Idylic Irish Retreat
Four nights for two, plus breakfast and a dinner (one night). HHpoints=550,000

Now, what am I not getting? Can't you just use 150k points and stay for six nights!!! For 550k points, we could stay for 20 nights!!

I must not be understanding something...and it does NOT include air.

????

Maybe the people who designed these awards are the same that came up with the 50K promotions...

I agree, it's moronic.

Yes you can redeem an award GLON1 for six nights at this property or stay 4 nights for 140k points using 4 single night awards.
I suppose the above may only be useful is for non Gold/Diamond members ( or anyone else gullible to redeem it)
I would suspect a GLON1 might be difficult for some dates and during the Summer. Dont even think about Oct 2004 when the Amex World Championship Golf Touney featuring one Tiger Woods is going to be held there for the second time in 3 years.

Breakfast for two assuming they give you the full is going to set you back about 50 euro per day, if you had to pay for it. So on this award the additional 400k = about 350 euro in value.

Golds and Diamonds do get free breakfast I suppose I was the guinea pig in that respect when I stayed there in Oct 2002 I was told that not many HHonors members had stayed as of that time and were going to charge me about 200 euro for breakfast ( for 3 days) when I insisted the receptionist call Hilton HQ and the charge was removed, I will add they hotel was very apologetic about the whole incident.

Note that the Paris Las Vegas and the Paris France awards are similarly highly inflated.

Yikes! Breakfast at this property is 50 euros per day? For how many people? I'm on an award stay here for two nights in May. Should I expect a breakfast charge? (I'm Diamond)

No the full breakfast is about 25 Euros per person thats how I arrived at 50.
And yes since my visit ( which was an award stay) when they did remove the charges, I have seen a number of (Gold and Diamond) Ftalkers post to say that they did get free breakfast.

Note the 20 EU charge for full breakfast is about standard for just about every UK Hilton so its really important you make sure before hand that your let the hotel understand the you expect it to be free.

Note that one dinner (for 2, I presume) is also included. Depending on what is included in the "free" dinner and whether dinners are good there, perhaps that would make up the difference in the # of points??

With all due respect Jassy, NO dinner is worth 400,000 Hilton Honor Points!! I don't care if the Queen served it to us or what the menu consisted of!!!!!!!!!

Plus, as stated above, we are talking about 550,000 for FOUR nights as opposed to 150,000 for six nights. As the posters already stated, breakfast is already included.

FWIW, the topic of Vacation Rewards vs. VIP-only rewards has been extensively covered in these prior threads:
