Is there a program I can buy that would let me plan a route to take and also let me choose a certain brand of hotel to display along the route?
Hilton HHonors - Mapping Program Showing All Hilton Properties Along a Certain RouteView Full Version : Mapping Program Showing All Hilton Properties Along a Certain Route scrog Jan 29, 04, 7:38 pm Is there a program I can buy that would let me plan a route to take and also let me choose a certain brand of hotel to display along the route? yyzflyer Jan 29, 04, 7:52 pm I use Delorme's Street Atlas. It shows hotels, restaurants (and many other businesses) along a user-defined route. The latest version is not as user-friendly as their previous AAA Map 'N' Go product, but still quite valuable. You cannot sort by brand however. OTOH, I know of another hotel chain (begins with M) that offers this feature on their website. Might be something Hilton should look at. zipual Jan 30, 04, 11:43 am If I am remember correctly...the Hampton website used to have this capability...but i cannot find it now.....you could put in your starting and ending addresses and it would show you the hotels all along your route, within 3 miles of the route or something like that. zipual Jan 30, 04, 11:48 am I found the site on hilton.com....here is the link: hilton search (http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/hotels/search/route_search.jhtml) Canarsie Jan 30, 04, 11:59 am Originally posted by yyzflyer: OTOH, I know of another hotel chain (begins with M) that offers this feature on their website. Myatt? It sounded like the OP was looking for software as opposed to an online app., but I was also not aware that Hilton offered one. Thanks to zipual for the link. scrog Feb 1, 04, 2:05 pm Thanks zipual, that works very well. cordelli Feb 1, 04, 3:20 pm Originally posted by Canarsie: Myatt? That could have been some good material with which to work, and I blew it! ...and, of the hotel chains that begin with the letter M, I cannot believe I missed this one (http://www.motel6.com/)... ------------------- The reason why I did not mention the motel chain by name is because I did not want to violate the terms and conditions of FlyerTalk, as members are not supposed to discuss Six and violence... cordelli Feb 1, 04, 11:49 pm It's actually pretty funny, I use to stay at Motel 6's back in the early 80's on the drives all around the East Coast, and would never ever stay in them now (something about the police busting the door in one night because they had the wrong room, we all know what that is like), but their advertising is real effective. You remember each of the commercials, and I remember when they started promoting the route planner wondering why nobody eles jumped on the bandwagon for it. It's a really cool idea. lintemut Feb 2, 04, 9:55 am Originally posted by zipual: I found the site on hilton.com....here is the link: hilton search (http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/hotels/search/route_search.jhtml) It actually will let you choose any of the Hilton brands as well. Very cool. Thanks for the link. |
