Hilton HHonors - HHonors closed wrong account. Still able to use old awards?

I signed up for the ACAQ promo and received a new HHonors number. Then, I went into the new account and requested that it be combined with my old account (I was very careful to check to "keep this account" box next to my old account number. Anyway, HHonors managed to cancel my old account and merge it into my new one (for which I still have not received a card).
I still have 3 awards (1 GLON, 1 PS2, and 1 SE4) that I had redeemed from my old account. They have my old account number on them. Are they still valid? Should I wish to cancel the award and get back the points, would I be able to?

You should be able to use them still. They are good for the party named. Not for the named party who happens to have said HHonors number.
Re-depositing the award may be more of a challenge, but I presume that your award redemption history should follow over since when account merges occur, everything but the account number and profile follows over. If it follows over, then even re-deposit should not be an issue.
This happened to me, too. It's a pain trying to remember a new number but the credit card points, Mypoints in process, switched over OK. Also lost our mutual account and had to re-add my husband.

Thank you for bringing this up. I forgot that I had the CC. Did you have to call anywhere, or did the CC points automatically go into the new account?
They said they would automatically post and they did.

Just call your cc company and give them the new HHonors number. Shouldn't be a problem, but they won't have the new number by themselves. You will have to tell them.

Thank you very much for your posts. They are very comforting. I think I'll not make any more calls until I need to redeem an award or the points don't post properly.
Since all activity that goes through my old account will make it to the new one, can I continue to use my old HHonors card?
You will get a new (gold) card. I didn't realize my husband was off the formerly mutual account until his card did not show up and I called for one. In retrospect, this is a loophole that allows anyone with a mutual account to do 2x the ACAQ stays and then re-merge.

I have two stays credited on my new gold account but have not received a new gold card yet. It's been about six weeks.

Seems like they're really slow issuing the new cards. I got mine quickly (was gold before the ACAQ promo) but Mrs. bj-21's new gold card hasn't arrived yet, and it's well over a month since we registered for the promo. Stays and bonuses have posted quickly though.

They did the same thing to me (merged the wrong account.) I had no problems when I used my reward stay under the old HH #. My points for incidentals and ACAQ bonus posted just fine to the new account.
Just yesterday received husband's new gold card with the new number. Took about three weeks. We did not get retro credit under the ACAQ promo, maybe because of the incorrect merge.
