Hong Kong and Macau - Where to store bags at HKIA for 4 hours?

Hi all,

Lots of excellent advice on this forum, I have been reading a lot lately as my new job has taken me across the world for the last year and 2012 is only looking better ^.

I will be transiting at HKG on March 1st. Arriving from CAN at 9:55 and departing to YYZ on AC16 at 16:20. The CAN flight is on KA so I'll have to get my bags and re-check them again with AC.

I would like to go out and see Hong Kong (never been). I was thinking that Victoria Peak was probably the best use of my time, however I am not even sure if I can make it. What do you think?

1- If yes, where at the airport can I stash my bags so I don't have to lug them around HK? I am not sure the counters for AC16 will be open a 11-11:30...

2- If no, should I bother with one of the pay-in lounges, and which one? (I have no status yet...planning for early AC E qualification by April...)

Thanks everyone for your opinion.

No reason why KA can't check your bags through to YYZ, even on separate tickets.

Thanks for the link mdevans, I should have looked there first!

rkkwan, the CAN-HKG was booked separately as one-way so not the same PNR. I highly doubt that'll work, however I am happy to be proven wrong on that one.

If you have your AC ticket number, they will.

But why not just train/ferry down to HKG? Surely it was alot more expensive to fly, and CAN can get really backed up at times.
