I booked two nights at Sydney Blu plaza over the weekend. Only the premier rooms were available . So I booked and put in a nor1 request for a suite or spa room .
The night before check in I rang the property and spoke to the FD DM who said my upgrade has been applied and won't be a problem. Or course the next day my status wasn't reconigsed and I wasn't upgraded I was given the room booked. When I approached the DM a different manager he explained to me the hotel is at capacity and no upgrade is available .
I asked about lounge access and was told its a surcharge of $95 p/p even with my status.
I'm not feeling this property and disappointed with the treatment . The Marriott around the corner gives lounge access to elite and so does the hilton even their mid - tier elites . Not having access to the lounge is a big negative for me . I thought I read somewhere as a Concergie level access is granted ?
And what about my guarantee room at check in and upgrade !
