Hilton HHonors - Upgraded to Gold Status

For some reason, Hilton Honors has upgraded me to Gold. I only had 5 stays totaling 7 nights in '03 and 2 stays totaling 6 nights in '04 (so far). Does anyone know why they moved me from Silver to GLD? I'M NOT COMPLAINING http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Did you receive this via snailmail? I'm just curious, because I'm a Silver with 2 stays and 7 nights so far in '04. Can you sprinkle some of your gold dust my way?

They must really like you! Up until last year, I had between 12-13 stays a year at Hilton properties, and never got Gold http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif . So I decided last year to give Hilton the bare minimum for silver (4 stays) and switch everything to Starwood. Had they upgraded me to Gold, I would have remained a loyal Hilton customer. Alas...

No. I checked my account on the web to see if a recent stay was credited. That is where I saw my status was upgraded.

I was gold the year before last and slid to silver last year. But I did achieve gold on marriott. Does Macy's tell Gimbels?
