The HHonors website had monthly maintenance this weekend. I want to set a reminder on my calendar, and wanted to know if the following parameters are correct:
The last full weekend of the month (where Sunday is in the same month as Friday), starting 10PM Central Time on Friday (and going until it finishes, usual sometime Sunday early AM).
In case you didn't know, during monthly maint you can't redeem rewards as well as some other things. No redemption can be a nasty surprise if you're heading out on Saturday for a reward stay expecting to print out a cert (happened to me once).
I'll try to remember to bump this thread every month as a reminder for everyone.
New information from e-mail of 4/29/03: <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">The maintenance is done during the last week of the month on Friday night and all day Saturday. If Friday is the last day of the month then the previous weekend will be the maintenance weekend. This may change at anytime. As of today these are the scheduled dates.</font>
However, this appears to have been incorrect in May of 03, in which the maintenance was reported (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum57/HTML/007876.html) by NJUPINTHEAIR to have occured according to my originally deduced rule above.
Sigh. Stay tuned for more info, if that is possible.

If you are caught in the situation where you need a certificate and can't print it out, you can phone the service center and have them fax one to the property you will be staying at.

Not even the HHonors center can print certs during monthly maintenance.
Frankly, I was sorely disappointed with the HHonors desk's handling of this situation. Three different calls, and I basically got the same answer thrice: "sorry, pal, you're SOL". They didn't offer to help in any way.
Thankfully the manager at the Hampton was understanding, and offered to take care of it when the system came back up.

Bump...
Well, they are finally putting this on the www.HHonors.com (http://www.HHonors.com) homepage ahead of time, which is a nice change, but in case you haven't visited this week, monthly maintencance is scheduled for this weekend, starting 10:00 pm CDT Friday April 25 and officially running until 7:00 am Sunday April 27.
I say "officially", because I suspect it could end earlier if things go well, or later if things go very wrong, but I seem to remember once that they hit us two months in a row, which I suspect is the fall back if things do go terribly wrong.
THE POINT: During this time, certs cannot be issued by anyone, online or in the HHonors office, and no other services are available at all, to anyone, except maybe checking your balance but that's it.

According to my schedule, monthly maintenance is this weekend.
That could have very serious implications for those waiting until the 31st. Nobody can issue award certs curing maintenance, which should start 10PM CT tonight.
I suppose if you call tomorrow, they can take a note and issue on Monday at Saturday's rates, but I wouldn't trust them.

I just edited the original post in the thread. The rule is still not known, and even if known is subject to change.

Sounds like progress to me! Maybe Hilton's FT lurkers are having an impact on day to day operations. At least I'd like to think so.
