Hilton HHonors - Hilton Dortmund

I am considering it for a stay in a couple of weeks. Can anyone comment on this property? What kind of upgrades or amenities might I receive as a Diamond? Also, how close & accessible is the Hauptbanhof? Thanks in advance.

P.S. It is a Cat. 1 hotel - Seems like excellent value for redemption.

I have stayed in the Dortmund Hilton in November after I got a promotion to Gold. The hotel has a nice pool area, but I was a little bit disappointed. Not real upgrade, strange rules for towels in Pool area, some members of staff were not very friendly. The hotel is not located in the heart of Dortmund, but Station could be reach by Subway easily.

As far as I recollect it is one of the Scandic's they converted into Hilton's. The room rates are still very modest and if you don't expect a five star property it is very good value for money. Compared to most UK Hiltons and many properties in the US it could even be considered "luxury"...

The Dortmund Hilton is about 10 minutes by subway from Hauptbahnhof. Take U45 or U49 south and exit at station "Westfalenpark".
