KLM Flying Dutchman - air fuel surcharge

Has anyone managed to get a fuel surcharge refund from KLM with a non refundable ticket?? there's 250euros sitting there that I would love to get back...surely this has to contravene EU law or something, i'm not taking the flight so surely i dont contribute to the airline using fuel!...has anyone experience with this and been successful in getting the fuel surcharge specifically back??

For some (maybe even all) non-refundable fares, KL fare rules explicitly state that the fuel-surcharge is non-refundable. (But taxes and airport fees are refundable.)
If you booked through the website, this information should have shown up in the fare condition window.
