India-based Airlines - domestic transfer at BOM on AI?

need to fly maa-jga; can buy a single ticket with connection in bom (maa-bom-jga) on AI via expedia..can't seem to buy the through trip on AI.com where I can only buy separate tickets. It's a 1hr 20min connection. Having never done a domestic connection at BOM...will agents at MAA issue both boarding passes (if on separate tickets on AI.com or single ticket via expedia) and check luggage straight through? Is there a transfer security at BOM (like in DEL, HYD). it seems MCT is 45 min for an AI T1-T1 transfer, so that should be ok..unsure why I can't buy the ticket on AI.com. If the MAA-BOM flight is delayed, I'll probably be hosed as BOM-JGA is once daily...wonder if they would hold the flight if cutting it close. Thanks.

Given the short hop it is probably the same bird - 45 minutes is just about enough to deplane BOM pax and board BOM-JGA pax.

thanks..but not the same flight number though..so not sure if it's the same bird...the JGA flight may be coming from somewhere else.

it's not necessary to have the same flight number....it could still be the same bird....
