WestJet Rewards - Transfer Forum Title to Westjet Rewards

The Westjet FFP is now called Westjet Rewards and there is no longer any association with "Frequent Guest" name.

Could I have a show of hands about whether the forum name should be updated?

Also, to some of the insiders (Owners) there does not appear to be any official notice about the name change. Was there something I missed (PR or other announcement) or was the name change never formally communicated?

Item 1.i. of the program terms and conditions (which was updated November 1, 2011) states:

Thank you for joining the WestJet Frequent Guest Program® and, as applicable, the WestJet Credit Card Program®, which together form the WestJet Reward Program (the “Reward Program”). The Reward Program is a rewards program offered by WestJet, an Alberta partnership (“WestJet”) to members of the WestJet Frequent Guest Program and/or holders of a WestJet RBC® MasterCard‡ or a WestJet RBC® World MasterCard‡ (each, a “WestJet Credit Card”). The following terms and conditions (hereinafter “Reward Program Rules” or “Rules”) apply to the Reward Program. Seems like they are still referring to the "frequent guest" program for BIS and using "rewards" when combined with the CC program.

The term WS dollars is also used. I'd suggest that things not change any more, it wasn't that long ago that the name of the forum was changed from "passenger perks." Who knows what they'll call the program next month.

IIRC if you want to suggest a name change you need to submit a request to the talk board and then a vote will take place.

The quote would suggest the foruym be changed to Westjet Rewards, however I also noticed throughout the WS.com website that Frequent Guest Program is still utilized.

I thought about going the Talkboard route, but the afore mentioned website confusion (directly from Westjet) made me rethink that idea.

Hopefully one of the owners that are regulars on this forum could chime in with an official determination about the name of the WS FFP.

I think its pretty safe to say that Frequent Guest Program is on its way out and Rewards is the new FFP brand. I will send a note to Talkboard and see if the Forum Title can get changed.

I put the original motion to change this forum to Frequent Guest from Paaenger Perks. The Talkboard voted and it obviously passed. I assume the TB makes the request of the CD. Although with something so basic, I would also assume the CD doesn't need to be directed by the TB to make this change.

I caught the TB purview note from the Virgin Flying Club forum rename. Instead I sent a PM to Moderator2 explaining the situation and requesting guidance/assistance. I chose Mod2 simply because they are the TB forum moderator. I didn't think to go the SanDiego1K route.
