Central America - honeymoon - 1 nt san jose, 2 nts arenal, 2 nts monteverde, 2 nts at the beach?

Hi FT experts,

Leaving on a honeymoon to Costa Rica in a few days and would love some feedback as I firm up this itinerary.

The current plan is:

Land in SJO
Stay 1 night in SJO (hotel?)
Stay 2 nights at Arenal Paraiso
Stay 2 nights in Monteverde (hotel?)
Stay 2 nights in Guanacaste (hotel?)
Depart from LIR

I'd love feedback on the general itinerary and on specific hotels. For hotels, we're looking for nice places but not ritzy - Arenal Paraiso would be a good example, as that's the one that I've figured out so far for the Arenal area part of the trip (it's about 100-125 USD per night, and relatively upscale-feeling, from what I've read).

In Guanacaste, something with a beach on the property is highly desirable.

In Monteverde, no particular preferences but we'd definitely like to do a night hike, zip lining, and all the usual things.

San Jose is the one I'm really not sure about - we land there mid-day, and we'd like to see a coffee plantation tour if there's one nearby. Not quite sure what else there is to do here though.

you could do coffee plantation tour or poas volcano+ paz waterfalls and stay in a hotel in that area

thats moving towards alajuela so its heading towards arenal anyway

Thanks! Coffee plantation tour is definitely on the agenda and now I'll consider Poas/La Paz as well.

Any recommendations for hotels in Monteverde, Guanacaste or San Jose? Help would be very much appreciated!
