India-based Airlines - Transfer to internal flight, Check in again at Mumbai ?

Hi,

- I am flying from LHR to Mumbai on Jetairways (9:30 am flight from LHR), arrive Mumbai at 11pm.

- I will take a seperate internal JetLite flight(not on the same booking), flight from Mumbai to Lucknow next day at 10:30am.

- I need to leave the airport on arrival at Mumbai. Can I checkin in to the local internal flight from INSIDE the airport before I leave the airport(and return next day 9without my checkin luggage)? I can't remember if there is a seperate Jet check-in counter that will be open at this time. If so, where ?

you will need to change terminals (which is actually a separate airport), which at that time at night will take you about 30 minutes....more info can be found below:
