Fairmont President's Club - Fairmont President's Club Matching Status

Does anyone know if Fairmont will ever match status with Starwood or Hyatt, etc.?

IIRC Over the years, attempts to status match with Fairmont President's Club have not been successful.

Fairmont President´s Club does not have an official status match program nor have many people been successful getting a status match. The main reason for this is that you get a good amount of valuable benefits in advance to use during the membership (e.g. free night in a suite can easily cost >$1000), unlike other hotel program´s status where status alone isn´t worth much if you don´t actually stay there.

That being said, if you intend to stay at Fairmont hotels on a regular basis (preferably having already booked a fair amount of nights), I´d contact FPC nevertheless. (I know of a few people who received a comp. suite upgrade cert and one person who got comped Plat status without the free night cert)

Also, there are various fast-track promos to Premier/Platinum status targetted to Canadian AMEX Platinum customers (Centurion members get comp. Plat status), Air Canada Elite / Super Elite members etc.

This is bad news for me. I was planning on just asking for a status match as I am planning to stay in several Fairmonts this summer in Quebec City, Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff etc. These locations do not have much for SPG or Hilton, where I have highest loyalty status.

Book a few and then give them a call. THey tend to be pretty responsive to getting new business.

Does Hyatt status match in reverse for FPC platinum members? Far shot, but thought I'd ask.:)

I've been a Platinum member with FAIRMONT over the past 3 years and i'm a Platinum everywhere else. I've travelled a lot to Asia last year and was unable to get Status for 2012. I tried and they ditch me. No way they will understand. I imagine when I will go to their property!!!! I will just go and not give them business at the same time. I will also let my consultant know they are not part of our preffered hotels anymore. They will loose a bit of business but hey!, serce your loyal customer better !!!!;)

I assume you still had enough stays to get Premier status? If not, I doubt you were a particularly valuable customer.:p

I tried to get a Status Match with my RA Ambassador membership with about 100 Nights last year and was denied but they gave me 1 free suite upgrade certificate valid for one year.

According to this thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/fairmont-presidents-club/1323611-benefits-ua-1k-gs-plus-fastrack-premier-4-nts-plat-8-nts.html) FPC is offering the following fast track to Premier/Platinum status to United 1K and GS members:

Premier status after 4 stays (instead of 5 stays)
Platinum status after 8 stays (instead of 10 stays)
