This is related both to BA and AY but thought people here might have more experiences with AY bookings using BA Avios.
Recent changes in BAEC resulted in a situation where pure award flights are cheaper w/o connections so I'm currently looking at booking a return HEL-SIN in J with AY using BA Avios points.
It's quite difficult to get AY flights to show on ba.com if there's same day availability with BA and my question is that are the taxes/charges the same on Avios/BA award with AY as they are if you pay AY with money?
This is what AY charges for taxes etc. for HEL-SIN return in J:
Insurance and fuel fee (YR) 320,00 EUR
Security Charge (DQ) 3,93 EUR
Other Tax/Charge (XU) 1,20 EUR
Passenger Fee (International) (FI) 7,88 EUR
Passenger Security Service Charge (SG) 8,38 EUR
Aviation levy (OP) 3,68 EUR
Other Tax/Charge (OO) 4,82 EUR
Total 349,89 EUR
If I assume it's not more on BA award am I correct or could BA possibly charge something additional here?
Thanks,
