Congratulations, You've Achieved Elite Plus Status Again for 2012

OK so I got this again this year. I got it last year. I have not a clue what it means. Can any of you guys help me. I do use Expedia from time to time (once per month) - that is all I know.

I had never heard of this, but I assume it's related to what's here:

"To qualify for Expedia® Elite Plus®, simply stay 15 hotel nights or complete $10,000 worth of travel booked on Expedia in a calendar year and we’ll enroll you in the program. It’s that simple."

Yes, I booked about 15 nights hotels through Expedia. Not sure what advantages this gives me though. Just wondered if anyone knew.

Since this is specific to Expedia, we'll move this over to the Online Travel Booking forum for the experts there to chime in. (I did a very quick search on that forum and did find references to this program, though didn't immediately see anything recent/insightful.) Thanks! :) /JY1024, TravelBuzz co-moderator

I think the "advantages" are listed right on the page to which MrColdShoulder provided a link.

So basically not worth much really.

I think that the main benefit is supposedly a US based agent vs. a script reading monkey.

Just received my congratulations email...
I was excited.
Then I read the "benefits"
Less excited.

Basically you might get updates on select hotels. You might get early or late check in/out, but depends on the hotel. In rare instances you need to call, they will provide an elite specialist...

Wow, $12,000 well spent... <rolls eyes>
