Nordic Countries - Gota Canal - tours?

Am considering a tour this summer along the Gota Canal from Gothenberg to Stockholm. There is one operator advertised (Scan Tours) but its quite expensive and not exactly geared to a more active lifestyle e.g. I asked them about taking a bike on board and the answer was nyet!

Have any F/T's done this trip? Can you recommend it? Are there other alternatives? What about boat tours to/from Denmark?

I think that I may have done this trip as a kid, but I can't recall 100%. The price on Scan Tours doesn't seem THAT unreasonable, but it's a full package. You can make your own tour package with local providers if you feel like working directly with suppliers..

Not sure what you mean by boat trip to/from Denmark. You can take regular ferries like http://www.stenaline.co.uk/ferry/ for such a transport, but it is just ferries, nothing ordinary.
