I was fortunate enough this morning to fly into Inchon Seoul International Airport this morning at 4am and be the VERY first person and ONLY person for about 30 minutes in the Prestige Lounge. The Lounge has undergone a very large expansion in the last year and has added 160 seats, a dinning room, and a sleeping room and powder room for FEMALE travelers ONLY. These new additions in 2011 have nearly doubled the lounge in size. I will state that I am VERY happy to see what Korean Air has done with the space, for the Prestige lounge is VERY busy and seems fairly full despite having two separate sides and sections.

Both Sections are basically the same. The only difference truly is the layout of the kitchens. On the newer side the kitchen is more of a galley and set up as a walk through kitchen which is good for when it gets busy, the older side is more oval and can get congested for people walk in and out of it from all directions. I honestly cannot say that one section is nicer than the other, for they are both very comfortable and one can easily rest while waiting for their connecting flight.

The food at the Lounge is pretty bland compare to other international airlines lounges. Despite being bland there were plenty of options including a salad bar, pasta Salad, Corn Salad, Korean Porridge, Chicken sausage, boiled eggs, pastries, and cereals. Honestly I call it bland, but for a breakfast selection it's not so bad. I guess I've just been really spoiled in Hong Kong and Singapore in the pass! I would say the biggest down side to this lounge is the LACK of alcohol, however I have found this to be an on going theme at ALL of KE's lounges and even inflight! There's a few scotches/whiskeys and wine, in addition to Budweiser and a Korean bear. No soju or Saki either!

The shower rooms at the lounge are small but very clean! The rain shower with hot water was very nice and very comfortable! After spending two weeks with cold showers in the Philippines, a warm water rain shower was more heavenly then sex! In addition to a nice shower, the amenities in the shower room consisted of a new comb, razor, toothbrush/paste, and bar soap for each patron. Korean Air provides slippers for the showers for the germaphobes and each room has moose (who uses moose any more?!?!?), hair spray, after shave lotion and cologne, body lotion, shampoo, body wash and more! If you feel like a little self pampering it can be done here!

Over all I would say that the Prestige class lounge is nice but not nearly as nice as the Delta Lounge in Tokyo. However I think I am just being picky due to lack of alcohol and I've had some good meals at the DL NRT lounge. Nonetheless, this lounge is worth stopping at and relaxing while at ICN. However, even if you do not have lounge acess, no worries, ICN has a number of places to relax, free lounges, movies, shower rooms, and enough shopping to keep you busy for hours!

Thank you for the review. I read your critique of your flight to Manila on your website. Thank you for that too.
