South - CLT car rental facility

Are all of the car rental companies at the Charlotte International Airport in one location? This came in handy in Sacramento when the car we had reserved with one company turned out not to be what we expected and we could just walk over to another company's counter.

As long as the counters are staffed. I was through there last week and there was just a sign on the Hertz counter telling you to go straight to the shuttle. The other counters appeared dark as well.

I phoned the Hertz facility, with whom I had reserved a "Premium" vehicle, and was told all they had was a Marquis or Town Car (older, very big cars I didn't want). Had run into the same lack of selection at Hertz in Sacramento. Turned out that the best approach was, in fact, to go to the counters in the airport terminal so we could shop among car companies. Had to talk with National/Alamo (one counter, two reps with different jackets, but handling the same cars), Avis, Enterprise. Hertz's counter had no one there (said to take the shuttle). Not quite as convenient as SMF, where the counters are all together AND the cars are immediately behind, so one can quickly check on availability, but not bad.
