San Francisco - Fares from SFO to HNL

I'm planning to travel from SFO to HNL around early June, For those who have experience on this route how much does it usually cost?

I'm seeing fares for a round trip of two adults that would reach $1500. Does that seem logical?

Try Oakland or San Jose with Hawaiian or Alaska

June July August all heavy peak travel periods for Hawaii

That's about twice the lowest fare out there right now. I'd never pay $750 each for SFO-HNL.

No way. That's too expensive. Try buying them along with one or two nights of hotel (eg Expedia).

Price for air only during summer should be no more than $700.

To/from OAK or SJO should indeed drive price down substantially.

SJC would be cheaper, SJO would be wildly expensive I think. ;-)

Check with Pleasant Holidays - they sell packages as well as air only.

The problem seems to be availability rather than the fare structure. The lowest published fares are under $500 roundtrip but it is hard to find space at that fare. PH often has block space that they can resell at fares lower than what is directly available from the carrier.

Thanks for the feedback, SJC and OAK are almost the same. I'm not a fan of packages because I get to find great rates in hotels only. I'll give it time and see how it goes.

You can do a flight/car package too

I just booked a ticket for $477, but in March. I have paid $700-900 if I really needed to get to the islands with short notice or busy season. Hawaiian usually has better fares and Hawaiian and Delta have recently had sales. Not sure when the "travel by" dates were. Southwest no longer flies from OAK.

Good idea about air and car. But PH also sells air only.

The problem is that air and car is four roundtrip only, I'll be flying from the Bay Area to HNL then flying to LAX.
