Hawaii-based Airlines - Open Jaw Ticket for 35,000 Miles?

I know that I can book a round trip from California to Hawaii using 35,000 Hawaiian miles. Does anyone know if that also applies to an open jaw ticket?

I'm trying to book SJC-LIH and then KOA-SJC. I can't figure out how to do that on the Hawaiian website. The multi-city option isn't there when you try to book with miles.

I called the Hawaiian reservation number. The first rep said it was 35,000 miles for an open jaw ticket and then transferred me to another person to book the ticket. That person said the first rep was wrong and it would be 40,000 miles.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for any help you can give me!

Does booking two one-way awards work?

Also, I'm pretty sure Hawai'i-Mainland awards were upped to 40,000 a while back, aligned with the other carriers.

Yes, with one-way awards there is no need to do an open-jaw.

HA elite members and Visa credit card holders get a discounted rate of 17,500 miles each way. If OP is neither an elite nor a HA VISA card-holder, the correct price would be 40,000 miles.

I just booked SJC - KOA as a one way...
then
LIH-LAS as a one way for 35K. But I have the credit card. Before I did this I looked at one ways to make sure the 17.5K was available.

I actually wanted to come back through SJC but there were no 17.5K tickets...so I picked LAS. We are breaking up a trip from Texas so it didn't matter which west coast city for us.
