I'm going to see if I can talk the wife into letting me do this. I found a routing IAH-PHX-CLE-LGA-IAH that wasn't too outrageous.

Trying to find a routing that works as I will already be in PHX for a wedding.

I am currently booked in 21A for this flight. Arriving in earlier that evening on JFK-PHX via US. There's a chance I don't make it but I'm planning to as of right now.

I'm booked in 3F.

I think my (UA MM) friend's wake will be on a different weekend, but if it's suddenly this weekend, then I'll have to fly the other direction instead.

while I'm not on the flight, I'd be game for a pre-security meetup...we could look at the wondrous art museum exhibits of PHX T-2...or the few small eateries

That's a long time before the flight! Thanks for the info, hope you can meet up with some people, though many of us are connecting in PHX and will be airside.

Planning to be at the PHX A7 US club from 8-10p
before finding my way to T2. Anyone in T4, I can
guest 2, I think. It should be possible to clear security
with a T2 boarding pass.

I don't know where people are meeting up; I'll be hobbling from my SFO flight. I'll try to pick up flowers in SFO so I don't have to try to do it on a one-hour connect.

I've confirmed that I will be making the trip unless there is an unmitigated disaster with one of my customers tomorrow before 3pm. I'm in 21A for the flight but coming in on US so I'll be on that side of the "wall" for a while. I'll try to catch up with violist at the US Club for a quick drink at one point and then head out for food and then into the T2 side of things.

I've got tags and such but you're more likely just to notice me as the random guy talking to everyone. :cool:

They did announce it and Seth got pictures taken with the captain. The flight was delayed in pushback due to the photo ops. :)

I'll look forward to seeing the photos! You may recall that my affordable three-point trip plan (MSP-PHX-CLE & return to MSP) went up by $1000 (on both United.com and Continental.com) in less than half a day, so I made other travel plans and commitments this weekend. The sad news: 24 hours later, the flight was again $1000 cheaper. Guess it just wasn't meant to be. :(

Now... if it had been the final United departure (and yes, I fully realize that many people believe that just happened with the "official" switch to COdbaUA yesterday), I would have made the trip happen regardless. Unfortunately... Who knows? Maybe that day will come before long as well?
