An agency called Omega Travel has been advertising 30kg baggage allowance on Singapore and Cathay, aimed at the UK-Philippines market. Yet when I look at the allowance for the above airlines, both state 20kg. Most other sites like Expedia, when they do actually refer to a baggage allowance, they state 20kg or refer to the airlines' websites - ie 20kg. How can one particular agency manage to get an extra 50% baggage allowance on the same fare?
FWIW some reviews about them aren't terribly favourable - including one complaint about the baggage allowance. This has a bad smell about it but I can't understand how they've gotten away with it for so long without much complaint, unless they really can offer it.
Any insight?
