Is there any actually functional way to search for LA IPC-PPT award availability online?
I mean, I check the schedules, IPC-PPT runs on Mondays, and return PPT-IPC (which I don't need) on Tuesdays.
On www.lan.com I go to Kilometre redemption, log-in, and search for Mon PPT-IPC and a month (or a week, or two, or two months) later Tue return.
Yet I always get this error message:
LAN does not operate the selected route. Redeem your Kms on oneworld airlines and its affiliates. Redeem your kilometers here.
However, the flights do run on those days. If I go to, say, www.expedia.com, I can find and book the revenue flights on those same exact days I am searching for. So, it is not that I have entered the dates wrong. And, I have tried Jan, Feb, 2013, Dec, Nov, Oct, Sept, Aug, June, July, 2012 - every week, and it never, ever works. I've tried it for a good 6-7 month timeframe, every week each month, and it never shows any results, while the fligh does operate then and is bookable on those exact same days for revenue.
So, how is one supposed to check for award availabilty for IPC-PPT? Is there no way to see its availability online for awards (it's only bookable online for revenue) other than to call? or..?
N.B. This used to work before on lan.com, a few months ago last time I tried. But now it works no more. Anyone know, how come?

I just tried with a few random Monday-Tuesday combinations and I could see the awards.
Could it be that you don't have any kms in your account?
I recall that there were some display issues if you didn't have enough kilometers...

Odd. I tried it again, and now it works. Before also I forgot to say, searching schedules on lan.com (schedules by day or by week) it could never find IPC->PPT or PPT->IPC and said that LAN doesn't fly that route.
Perhaps LAN was doing some maintenance or something and for a while that flight 'disappeared' from their schedules/inventory? (I could find it externally, but not on LAN under schedules or award search...now a few hours later both work.)
The follow-up question from this is: is there EVER any low kms award inventory for IPC-PPT, in either business (ideally) or economy (at least)? (low as in can be booked using other OW airline miles)
I searched (now that it works) for quite a few months, and I never see even one day of low for IPC-PPT (PPT-IPC may be once in three months may be low). Searching 330 days out, then 9 months out, then 6 months out, etc...
Does it even exist? Is it released right at 331 days out, and then always promptly booked? Or is it released closer in, or at some specific times? Or just low inventory for that flight doesn't exist at all?
(Business for award most days is simply N/A. Economy is always some higher kms than the 20,000km low one-way, never saw it at a low for the 10-15 weeks I checked.)

It seems like IPC - PPT Departs on fridays at 22:30 - and arrives after 5+ hours in the air at 23:30.
is that true?

Has anybody been able to book PPT-IPC (or vise-versa) one-way award flight with any One World carrier's FF program other than LAN's own? I have enough miles with American Airlines and British to book this flight. Yet, none of the award flight search engines shows any availability for this weekly flight for entire year. Seriously: I have tried AA, BA and Iberia (could transfer all my Avios there if need be). Each showed no seats from today till October 2013.
Thinking that this must have been some sort of computer glitch I, actually, called BA and AA. BA's rep practically hung up on me after checking a few months in advance and finding no availability. After that I called AA and, practically, forced its rep to check pretty much entire year (predictably, with no avail) Then I demanded to speak with her supervisor. She re-checked everything, saw no availability, got surprised and promised to inform their LAN liaison about the situation.
My question is: was anybody ever able to book PPT-IPC award flight with any other OW FF program but LAN's? It seems to me that LAN is withholding award seats on that flight from the award inventory of its OW partners. Could that be true? Are they allowed to do that under OW agreement?
Also can someone with enough LAN miles check this route to see if any award tickets are available at any date. If so, could you please do print screen and place the scan in this thread. That would very much help me next time I call BA or AA.
Could it be that this particular route simply never has any award seats available?
Thank you in advance.

Well, for one, LAN doesn't offer one way rewards.
For another, LAN rewards are (almost) always available, but just at higher and higher redemption levels.
For instance, first try: I can find IPC-PPT 19 Nov – PPT-IPC 27 Nov at 24k + 33k = 57k LanPass kms and 26 Nov-4 Dec at 24k + 24K = 48K
Hope that helps.

bingocallerb22, you misunderstood me. I was asking about other One World FF programs' award seat availability on LAN's metal on this particular route:
Has anybody been able to book PPT-IPC (or vise-versa) one-way award flight with any One World carrier's FF program other than LAN's own?
AA, BA and Iberia allow one-way award travel. Even on LAN's metal. I can book one way award tickets (both, through AA and BA) on LAN's planes MAD-SCL or SCL-IPC without any problems. Only PPT-IPC does not seem to be available at all for entire year (again, to LAN's OW partners). No matter what type of award (sAAver or regular) or class of service (economy or business) I check.
Why is that? Since you saw award seat availability on this route through LAN (although for a higher "price") it should also show up trough its partners. But it doesn't! So, the question stands: is it some sort of computer glitch or LAN is withholding award seats on that route from the award inventory of its OW partners?

Yes, I understood your basic question. It was the "Also can someone with enough LAN miles check this route" to which I was trying to respond helpfully.
I too am curious about your basic question and its ramifications on award seat availability.

There's a lengthy thread on the AA forum about weeks-long (and now returned) inability to book LAN awards with AA miles.
I do not think it has anything to do with that. You see, any other LAN-operated award flight I wanted to book through AA or BA showed up just fine. I checked MAD-SCL and SCL-IPC and vise-verse. Only the IPC-PPT leg doesn't seem to exist anywhere but in LAN's own award inventory.

Sorry, I misunderstood you. Could you search, say, award availability on that route during any time in April and, if something pops up, do "print screen", save the jpg and email it to me. That would enormously help me during my next conversation with BA/AA reps.
Funny, while AA, like LAN, could still play the game with redemption levels (sAAver vs standard), BA's Avios are strictly distance-based. In other words, if any award seat is open on that flight it should be available for a certain (fixed) number of Avios. No matter what LAN (or AA for that matter) think of its redemption level value.

I've booked this route using AA miles about 3 years ago. Oddly enough, I had no issues whatsoever getting this flight, both PPT-IPC and back. I think I flew in May or June and the flight was at most half full in each direction.
Although, at the time, LA flew this route twice weekly, so many now that they only fly it once a week, the award seats are harder to come by.

This is patently false.
The fact that BA only has one redemption level does not mean that you can book any award seat that a partner makes available to its own members. For example, AS offers three tiers of award redemptions to its own members, but when redeeming AA miles or BA Avios, only the lowest tier of AS award seats can be secured. I suspect that that is the problem you are encountering when trying to obtain LA award seats into (or out of) PPT.

Then why AA with its tiered award system doesn't show any availability for that flight either?

AA offers two tiers of awards: AAnytime and SAAver. AAnytime awards are only offered on AA metal. If you want to redeem AA miles for travel on any partner carrier, award seats must be available at the partner's lowest-tier redemption rate.

Stupid question: how LANPass kilometers and miles correlate? I mean, from your scan it looks like LAN calculates award level in kilometers, yet it gives you (for instance, when you use its credit card) miles. How do they correlate?

Not sure about the credit card miles, but when you log in to the USA page, you can see your account statement in both kms and the equivalent in miles. In that instance, the miles correlate dividing the kms by 1.609 (even when it states that "* 1 miles = 1.6 km".)

Please let me know if you were able to book this segment (IPC-PPT). I, too, have searched the BA website for availability at any level and can find nothing for the next 8 months. I have Avios so would need to book via BA.

I believe it's practically impossible, as it is never available at low. Only possible to book it (as RT) using LANpass kms, but not using any OW airline currency.

Well, I have lowered my expectations to just flying LIM-IPC, but I see no availability in spring/summer on the MIA-LIM flight that I need to make this connection. I have looked from May to Oct. 2013 and absolutely no availability

I did the same and am just going LIM-IPC and then back IPC-SCL, vs. LIM-IPC, then IPC-PPT and then PPT-HNL as would have been much quicker and a nice circle trip (HNL-DFW-MIA-LIM-IPC/IPC-PPT/PPT-HNL). I booked my MIA-LIM AA flight (for best connection time to LIM-IPC) nearly 331 days in advance... it seems that closer in availability really is not there anymore for many of these flights. So, you may want to try some 10-11 months out..

Seems that LAN and CX are having some sort of awards conflict. I have been trying to find out what's happening but have bumped into the infamous Lan information wall, in their main office, and élite phone and e mails lines.

I'm planning a trip from JFK to PPT & IPC. I searched next couple months and found absolutely no OW availability from PPT to IPC or IPC to PPT.
Is there an alternative to way to get to IPC from PPT? Maybe via SCL?
Seems it's impossible to visit both IPC & PPT in one trip..

This is one weekly flight SCL-IPC-PPT so award availability is likely extremely limited. I flew IPC-PPT in September on paid business class.
