Asiana Club - Booked in F but downgraded, lounge access still?

I am one of the folks effected by the equipment swap. I was supposed to be in F but now C. If i present with my original itinerary, will I have access to the F lounge? I will be extra mad if they take my F seat away and turn me way from the lounge. Please someone give me some good news here!

It is a definite NO, unless the downgrade occur the day of flight, you have no case to fight with the lounge agent.

If you make a fuss at check-in and act surprised about the downgrade, they may give you a pass for the F lounge at ICN.

Actually I'd say the chances might be better than only "slim". OZ staff normally just goes by the book, and they'll initially just give you the brush off with something like, "that's not allowed". But if you press the point very politely, I've had them give in on a number of occasions, especially when I pointed out how I was inconvenienced due to something of their causing. If you're initially denied the F lounge, you might want to consider saying something like, "one of the main reasons I booked this ticket was because I wanted to experience the OZ F lounge."

I was able to access the lounge although I was downgraded to C. It was a bit of a battle but not too bad.

What did you say to them?

Firstly I acted as if this was the first I had heard of the downgrade. At the time I was actually quite cheesed since I was informed that it wasn't even the good C seats. I insisted that they honour the F status of the ticket and they did. There was alot of Korean side talk orurring about us, but who knows what it was about. Ironically my luggage never made it on to the OZ flight. My husband joked that is what the side talk was about!:eek:
