Ended up taking a taxi. No big deal, though lucky for Etihad, I was at a place where taxi's were easy to get. Personally, I am surprised that Etihad does not have a system like Emirates, when it comes to chauffeur drive.

How annoying - are you going to attempt to get the cab fare paid for by Etihad? Also, which airport? It happened to me once on arrival at LHR many moons ago, cannot recall if it was Gulf (loong ago when they flew the SYD-LHR route) or Etihad. Do remember that it was a mix up airline side, which they rectified quickly, albeit that I had a bit of a wait - taxi was not possible as I was going over 100 kms into the countryside, not just a quick run into London. Interested because in 3 wks I have to travel almost 150 kms from LHR to my final destination :/

I'm considering it. (sending in receipts - can't find them at the moment). FYI - this has happened to me personally on more than one occasion. Ironically, this was departing from AUH (you think they would have their act to together there)

The annoying part is that I actually turned down alternative arrangements, in lieu of the pick up service, which failed to show up.

Annoying. Next time I personally would not bother (with the limo). The only advantage of Etihad flying direct into Abu Dhabi, as I see it. Nice on board service though.

I don't recall Virgin Atlantic or Emirates ever failing to show up...

My advice : If you relying on Etihad to pick you up, confirm and double confirm the arrangements. Day of. At the lounge. Their indian call center and the inept moronic ground staff can't be counted on. (at the time of writing). I do like the on board staff, very well trained.

Thanks for the feedback meFIRST. Its ok, I always triple (or is that quadruple!) check the limo service. Three days before I fly with my brilliant independent travel agent, who checks Etihad system, at same time I confirm with the Etihad booking center - Australian based. I then enquire on check in SYD (useless normally) and at lounge in AUH.

May sound paranoid, I am made of stern stuff - once survived a shipwreck - but thats another story not for FF forum. But am well aware, since relying on limo service to travel to areas that standard taxis will not dare to travel - or if they do the charge would be eyewatering, its well worth the paranoia :)

In my experience, at least twice they have forgotten to send transport to pick up from the airport at SYD. When complaining then pax was blamed that they didn't confirm the need for limo 24 hours prior to arrival. Not exactly an easy thing to do when flying from Europe which is about 24 hours flight.

On my last trip they sent transport but instead of a limo I was met by a minivan with hard and uncomfortable seats. I was hoping for at least a Fairlane or a Statesman but no dice. :D

They forgot me at ORD. It appears to be a system wide problem.

EY specifically state that all limo bookings MUST be made 24 hours in advance. They don't run the limo service, and this is a reasonable request.

They have, however, changed the time they were picking us up, and I ended up driving to the airport myself.

My understanding is that for 2 pax traveling they send a Mercedes Viano van. One passenger will get a Caprice.

Do you mean the limo was booked but didn't show up because you didn't confirm with the limo company 24 hours in advance on an inbound flight? Very odd!

I was called at my hotel 72 hours in advance by the limo firm and needed to call them back to confirm the time for my return trip. I called the day before my flight and did so.

The car that turned up the following day! Ohh la la a Jaguar XJ no less. :D

Are you guys booking the limos via EYs online booking tool? If so, it must be just me that cannot find a way to actually lodge the booking request after filling in the boxes required. There appear to be a "reset" button to click, just after filling everything in,which blanks everything out that I have just entered  No means to actually confirm my details.....help? Booked the first segment limo by phone but noticed the on-line thing so thought I'd try it :(. Thanks.

I used the online form. Didn't have any problems submitting it. Are you sure you have filled out all the mandatory fields? Did you try another browser?

Once you have submitted the form it will send you a confirmation email.

Thank you. I will try another browser as I have tried everything else!

All done using IE. Kinda......Just couldnt get it to load properly on FF. Oh well. Strangely (??) though the confirmatrion e-mails refer to one segment only & refer to my wifes name & not mine  Bizarre. shows OK online though. Will need to call a couple days before to check all OK though ()

Thanks for the advice Moomba.

Well, the limo pickup worked like a dream :) Driver was prompt & whisked me from home in Dubai to AUH in well under an hour. Car was a nice, clean Audi A6. Meet & greet at BKK was just OK - bit of a delay in sorting out the car & the 5 series BMW which took us to the Millennium Hilton reeked of cigarette smoke :td: I will refuse the same car if that picks us up for the return....

All good on rtn to BKK. Decent E class & driver was prompt & courteous. Phew.

I, too, was having that issue using Chrome, but switched to IE and it confirmed me. But it's been a few hours and I haven't received the conf email.

How long did it take for you?

I've personally appealed to the powers that be at EY to follow the EK system, which has yet to disappoint me.
