Has anyone else seen this message on the SAS website? For me it comes up on the "My Profile" page after logging in to my account.

My reading of this is that it will not be possible to book any upgrade awards either on SAS, or a system wide Star Alliance upgrade using Eurobonus points between the dates given. I am certainly glad that I already booked an upgrade on my upcoming OZ transpacific flight - it would be annoying to see availability disappear during this "systems down" period .....

Important information

During February 17 to 26, it is not possible to create new profiles, update existing profiles or delete profiles.

Between February 24 until the end of March, it is not possible to upgrade for points with SAS or Star Alliance. EuroBonus members can still purchase an upgrade at the gate.

I happened to see a similar message on UA's homepage,
They close down upgrade possibilities due to CO-UA merger during the same period. Could it be that Star Alliance systems are tightly linked to UA systems?

I think it's just the pre-ordered upgrades that are affected. Check-in based upgrades and gate upgrades should be unafffected.

I think M&M announced a similar period where you wouldn't be able to see, spend or even get (well, they'll be registrated after the down period, of course) your points.

Quite possibly they're doing some kind of work on alliance-wide integration.

Thanks for the information about the M&M and CO/UA programs. It does look as though there may be some coordinated upgrade across the *A network - though surprising (or perhaps not ....) that M&M are only planning to go offline for 7 days from Feb 11 to Feb 18 (http://www.miles-and-more.com/online/portal/mam/de/general_information?nodeid=3539364&l=en).

I guess the SAS IT team need the extra time to add their special touches to the system so that crashes and in all the right places and loops back to the start page in a sufficiently random fashion :)

SAS is switching from RESAID and "old-style" Amadeus to Altea on the 26 Feb, might be the reason for the SAS-message. Brace for impact

It is the reason. Some "limitations" were to be expected. Let's hope it will be for the better.
