Texas - xtra security @ IAH, Terminals A + E

I flew out last week from A, and this week from E, both times my BP and ID were checked at the podium, and then interestingly enough, they were re-checked right before going through the metal detector or AIT. What makes this so much fun is that I have the BP on the smartphone . This week in E, the PAX ahead of me, was interrogated right as he got out of the AIT as to where he was going, why he was going there. This was a domestic flight. I was asked to produce my BP for a 3rd time, when I told the TSO that it was in the phone which was on the x-ray he had me turn around and then said, ok, you are good to go. Something strange is brewing in the neighborhood.

Yes, last weekend they were telling folks to keep their boarding passes out, between the document checker and the AIT, in Terminal A.
