I'm transiting from CA to LX at PEK T3, international to international in F.

I see that MCT from T3-T3, I-I, is 1 hour, but my connection is 1 hour 15 min.

looking at flightaware it appears the CA flight usually arrives at least 15 min early, frequently 30 min. And the LX flight usually leaves 30 min late.

So how tight will 1 hour 15 min be? Will I have to claim luggage and recheck?

As I understand it, I will not need to go through immigration, but I have seen mixed reports that CA does not allow checking bags through and that they must be claimed.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Since CA and LX are both *A it seems like you should be able to check your bag through.

I did an I-I transfer there last year and had to go through transfer security and immigration. That was UA-TG. It's a very quick process though. You should have more than enough time. The transit immigration desks are on the extreme left or extreme right of the regular booths. Then you have to go downstairs and through a quick security check. Then you are back in the terminal.

PEK airport policy is to autotransfer international transit bags, so as long as they are tagged through to final destination, you won't deal with them at PEK. CA to LX should definitely be interlineable. You will go through immigration (transit/transfer special queue) which may present the most variation in time estimates. If you need a BP for the onward, you'll need to stop by the Airline desk before Immigration to get one, so you don't have to schlep back to the front side of the terminal.

Any way you slice it, it will not be a generous connection so you can't dally. Nothing seems to arrive on time or leave on time at PEK any more.
