Avis - UK Fleet Question

I've booked a Group J car for rental picking up at Marriott Hotel London, what can the car be (apart from the Passat 1.8)?

Considering there are just three stickies here, shouldn’t have been too difficult to find... ;)

I don't have access to an accurate fleet list (we do have an unofficial Avis UK lurker who may be able to help) but if it isn't a VW Passat, it could conceivably by a Ford Mondeo, Peugeot 508 or Citroen C6. Only a small proportion of the UK fleet is automatic, and since I like stirring the cogs myself I'm not familiar with those models.

NB. Although we will eventually get the US market Ford Fusion as the next gen Mondeo, they won't be here before 2013. The Passat sold in North America (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Passat_NMS) (and China) is different to the B7 variant sold everywhere else (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Passat#2010_facelift_.28Passat_B7.29), which is a revised and restyled version of the old model.

Don't worry, I know what to expect (we have the same cars here apart from Opels instead of Vauxhalls).

Group J examples: Peugeot 3008 (some featuring heads up display)
Peugeot 508sw
BMW 118d

Sometimes when automatics are in short demand, it may be substituted for a larger automatic such as Peugeot 5008 (small MPV 5 +2)

As far as I know the 3008s and BMW 1 series are group D (with the bimmer being part of the Select Series) and the 508sw group H.

And they are all manuals.

You should get a two class upgrade, which sometimes if they're short on vehicles can extend to more than that.

I've had some nice upgrades in the UK (LHR usually) the last one being upgraded from a class E (Focus) to L (5008 auto) which actually came in handy this time as I was with the family.

They have been for sometime now, as for the 508sw there are a mixture of Manual & Automatic on the Avis Fleet, the automatic classed as a J group.

As for Selectm the range is being refreshed for launch soon

Are you talking about Automatic versions of the 3008, and BMW 1? If so it's good to know as I have only ever seen manuals on the fleet, but if not then how can they fall into the J group? :confused:

How are the spec on those automatic 3008, 118d & 508sw? Have they got lots of options & is the 118d the latest generation cars?
