Cruises - AMEX Platinum Cruise Benefits- need to pay 100% with AMEX Platinum?

I'm using the AMEX Platinum Cruise Discount thru my travel agent- it's working out great for our wedding bookings. But do I need to pay 100% of the fare with the AMEX Platinum card? Or just any AMEX, or just any card (eg VISA)?
I currently have the 20% down paid via AMEX platinum. I'm tempted to put the rest on my new cards to meet minimum spend (Have $6k in 3 months). Think it's safe, and I won't loose the $300 cabin fare? Anyone have experience? My travel agent has generated the 'tracking number" with AMEX, but not sure how that works exactly (tracks the benefits, or the payments? )
Thanks for any feedback!

This may be cruise line specific. I came off a 17 night Paul Gauguin cruise last week and one person had paid everything with their platinum except for one prepaid shore excursion. They were denied the discount because all was not paid from the platinum card. He cancelled his excursion and all was well. At least with Paul Gauguin 100% must be paid off of the platinum card.

Not sure what the T&C say, but it seems risky not to pay entire amount on Plat AMEX
I have charged down payment on Amex Platinum and the final balance on my Hilton Amex several times and always received all my benefits. YMMV.

I just booked a cruise with the AMEX plat benefits and was told all of it needs to go on the Amex plat card. YMMV though

The entire cruse price needs to be done with the Amex (may be able to use two different amex). Do not need to pay for wine, excursions, etc with it.

T&C's state that you must hold a US Plat. or Cent. card but can use any amex card. Go to americanexpress.com/platinum click on travel tab, scroll down to cruise privileges program, click on search cruises and then on asterisk after last line of receive valuable cruise amenities. T & C's will show in a pop up. Be sure to advise your travel agent about bonus ID# 3847 which entitles you to double memb. reward pts. These do not post until 12 weeks after your cruise return date and sometimes you have to call amex to "remind" them.

My prior post was specific to what I was told about a Paul Gauguin cruise. Last week I made a reservation for a cruise on Oceania and I was told that I did not have to use the Platinum card for the deposit or even for any of the payments as long as I used an Amex card and I have a platinum card. Not sure how to validate this but it seems that this is cruise line specific.
You may want to call the Platinum number on your card and ask as Amex coordinates the credit (remember, this should give an on board credit, not a reduction in cruise fare).

Thanks everyone- looks like any Amex seems to be it. Guess I'll load up my spg card for all these bookings to get some honeymoon hotel credits!
