Hello everyone.
This week I am flying LX LHR-ZRH-JNB then South African from JNB-CPT. Can I check my bag in at Heathrow all the way to Cape Town or do I need to clear customs and immigration on arrival in JNB? I have a 1.35 connection in JNB.
Thanks!
Your bag can be tagged to CPT, but you will need to clear customs and immigration upon arrival in JNB. They should also be able to print your boarding pass for the last sector too (works in most cases).

Thanks SR116. A few weeks ago I had trouble with a most unfriendly check in agent at LHR T1 who was adamant that they could not check my bag with LX via BKK onto an onward Thai flight to Yangon.
In the end she grudgingly agreed to do it.

There is a special drop off counter for the luggage on the left after you exit customs in JNB. Easy to find.
