Caribbean - Hotel transfer in Puerto Plata, DR?

I will be staying at the Riu Bachata (Bahia de Maimon) for a week. I contacted the hotel about airport shuttles, since I purchased my airfare and hotel package separately (so hotel transfers are not included). Hotel told me to take a taxi for $40-50.

I did a quick search on the internet and found a number of shared van transfers. Does anyone have any experience with airport to hotel transfers in POP? I'll be on my own (at least until I get to the hotel), so don't want to choose an unsafe option.

OK, I will report back that I used www.viator.com. Cost me $26.25 round trip. They were there to meet me at the airport, and I was the only one on the van, so I was at my hotel less than an hour after landing! ^

On the website you provided, you cannot choose a return date. When is that established?
