Anyone receive an email message similar to this for a future paid stay in any Hilton property. This was a nice pleasant surprise with all the details of an upcoming stay that I had reserved online!!! Is this new?

Not an e-mail, but I have received on a couple occasions a regular letter from a GM welcoming to a future stay at their property (Atlanta Airport Hilton comes to mind). I believe it's a specific property's initiative (nice touch!).

...Got one the other day for a stay in LA.
I've also received letters in the mail.

But, the most interesting (and sad) letters was one form a Hampton Inn in WV telling me I was in the top 20 of its guests, based on nights stayed.

3 weeks total.
...Ugh!

A nice gesture, but a hefty price.

Not new at all.

I have ALWAYS received e-mail acknowledgments of reservations made on the Hilton HHonors websites.

I've received confirmations, but never ones specificially addressing me as a diamond person, just the general you just booked this hotel for this date thing.

Never got anything else from any of the properties. I should book a better class hotel.

I got an e-mail as a gold from the Palmer House Hilton (Chicago) and a snail mail letter from the HHV this year. Both acknowledged me as a gold and gave me a number to call if I had any requests. This last few months is definitely the 1st times it has happened though.

I received similar from Palmer House and also ORD Airport Hilton. When I inquired about the new service was told this is a new venture being rolled out in select locations to see how it works out.

I have been receiving this as well lately. I always receive my email confirmation that is the standard auto email that is spit out after making an online reservation but this is a special email that comes several days before my upcoming stay.

Got one for an upcoming Tucson stay 12/16 that was cancelled 3 months ago (when the Wyndham Ventana Canyon went on sale for $72 / night...).

Right.. I got two of them for stays that I didn't even make the reservations for.. they were made by corporate travel. I have never gotten one of these for a stay I reserved myself.
