Possible the wrong forum, although the final destination for my points/miles will be VS (hopefully).

I found out today that's I've got 78k in Avios points that I didn't know about. I am trying to see if it's possible to somehow move them to VS. I see that you can collect Avios points by converting Tesco Clubcard points, but can you do the reverse? If I can convert them to Tesco Clubcard vouchers, then I could turn the vouchers to VS miles.

If not, does anyone know a way of turning these points in VS miles?

Many Thanks
Andy

There isn't. Avios/BA miles are a dead end, and there is no way to convert an avios point into anything else I'm afraid. Still, 78k is not a bad amount, and should be enough for a long haul award.

Do remember there's a bonus this month for setting up auto convert from Tesco into VS.

Try to get to 80,000, that will open up a lot more options for you.

Also, check out the links in my sig :D

Thanks for the replies. I thought it wasn't going to be an options, but was worth a try.

I should get to 80k fairly easily as it's our mortgage that's been earning the points (without me knowing). I will probably use them for a hotel on our next holiday. Although it seems you only get the option of basic/standard rooms when searching on Avios.

I just wish I could earn this number of VS miles as easily.

I already have my clubcard points converted to VS monthly, so will miss the extra earning potential, unfortunately.

PanGalactic: I will have a look at your links, thank you.

It's with C&G, but I didn't know you could earn Avios points through them. It's definately the mortgage becasue under 'My account' it has the following.......

Avios Mortgage from Lloyds TSB monthly award - 500

Let us know how you get on. You might be entitled to some significant back pay/miles.

Worth noting that last year I was only getting 50 miles per month. After the change to Avios it's gone up to 500.

If it's Airmiles Avios, I probably don't have the right mortgage,

My understanding is that if you earn Avios and don't have an account setup with them, one should get created automatically.

I'm pretty sure that existing C+G/Lloyds TSB mortgage holders not earning miles/Avios won't qualify for retrospective credit. Air Miles were offered as an incentive when taking out the mortgage. When I was looking around some years ago now, the C+G Air Miles rate was less competitive than that of our building society.

Yes I was. Do Avios points/miles have less value than Airmiles, given they have used such a high conversion rate?

This has been debated extensively on the BA Board (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club-446/)

Many former Airmiles customers were unhappy, but Avios gives you a lot more options, for example part cash part miles, MFU's (upgrading), reward flight savers on short haul european flights.

You just have to check out all the options and make up your own mind on that.

Referring to your original post regarding air miles, yes it was. Did you ring C&G?

When I say Avios have less value then Air Miles, I mean due to the earning potential I have (from doing nothing). I was receiving 50 air miles per month from my mortgage. Now I have 500 per month. Either I am getting a great deal, or Avios aren't worth as much.

I still have no idea how I've managed to get 78K in Avios points. My mortgage isn't that big, and I have only been with C&G for 3 years.

I have been trying my hardest to get my VS miless to 100k in the past year, yet I'm still on 55k. I haven't knowingly tried with Avios, yet I'm on 78k.

Come on SRB, make it easier for me!:D

I spoke to my bank manager about it, he mumbled something about "we used to offer Air miles mortgages" so I left it there to be honest.
