LAN LANPASS - Business class Award availability LAN 2604 LIM-LAX

Been watching literally every day for 5 months and have seen zero availability on this flight. I'm able to find seats on LAN 600, but really want to be on 2604 to fly daytime.

Question: I know this is a reconfigured flight from 5 rows down to 3. Is there just no award avail ever? I've tried all kinds of dates on BA website, and see nothing. Flight 600 is almost always available though. I also know 2604 starts in EZE, so I assume LAN wants to limit the booking of only the second half of the flight.

Does anything open up closer to the date? I should mention I'm booking with AA miles, so I know that hurts my chances. I should mention I'm booked on 2604 in Economy, and am fine with it, but still its bugging me (along with not being able to select a seat!)

Not sure this helps but this was my experience. When Flt. 601 LAX-LIM-SCL came available I booked the flight... with AA miles in business class. About 4 months prior to our departure date, Flt. 603 popped up LAX-SCL. I called LAN, expecting to have to pay the $150 change fee. Was surprised when agent said no change fee because I hadn't changed the route. Keep looking for the flight you want... it worked for me.

I had no problem selecting seats with AA. Also asked for LAN conf# as well as AA conf#. Then I called LAN to make sure we were in their system with the correct seats. Maybe this worked for us because we were in business.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in a little different boat. I'm currently booked on 2604 in Economy, and looking to move up. My wife and I debated taking the red-eye in Business, but just wanted to be home and able to sleep in our own bed that night instead of sleeping on a plane to end our trip. Even the best business class can't compete with being home 12 hours earlier and asleep all night to me.

I'm fine with Coach, we're flying business on the way there, just would be nice to complete the trip in Business. But 8 hours in coach isn't too bad for both of us, neither of us is particularly tall or heavy, and at least it is direct to LAX. I'll keep watching availability, but won't hold my breath.

How do I use aa miles to book through LAN? I have been trying to do it through a aa phone rep but they can't seem to help. I am trying to book lax--lim or lax---Santiago.

Use the BA.com Avios Search to look for availability on LAN. Search each leg. Generally it is the same supply for OneWorld partners. When you find the availability call AA to book the flights over the phone, feeding them the exact dates and flights you researched. J class can be hard, but Y should be ok for your routing. LAX-MIA-LIM or SCL should also show up on AA.com. Good luck.
