Actually - you are right for 3/1-3/1 --- it resolves itself

But for 2/12/-2/14 --it's 70.00 + 9.10 = 79.10

Bah - can't make it early Feb but romance in March would have been nice! :p

It seems to resolve itself when you have a choice of two in the romance catagory, seeing it all the way until the end of March but resolving unless it only has exec floor option.

Hello Mr. nicksterguy,

I am contacting you from the Hilton BWI Airport Hotel in reference to an upcoming reservation that you have booked with us. The hotel was alerted this morning of a glitch within our revenue management system for online rates. This glitch has caused the web site to display certain room rate packages at the cost of the package without the room rate included i.e. the rates of $35.00 instead of $159.00. The hotel understands that this error may inconvenience your travel plans, so the hotel is willing to offer you a rate of $89.00 plus tax per night instead of the actual cost of the room. In lieu of the situation we understand that this may alter your travel arrangements, and if you choose not to proceed with your reservation the hotel will extend a complimentary cancellation with no incurred penalty.

Again we apologize for any inconveniences or confusion that this matter has caused. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact either myself or any of our Front Office Managers directly.

Glad they are offering a complimentary cancellation for a refundable rate  How about a real offer?

I got the same email from them. Anyone know if they are legally obligated to honor the published/advertised $35 rate? As a matter of good will, at least, they should have, IMO. Anyone's planned response?

Don't fall for anything from the hotel. That was the published rate you booked, and it is the rate you should receive.

I have the same email

IIRC, the cx is a by 11:59 p.m. one day prior to arrival. So giving me this CX is pretty lame. I haven't contacted them yet but am wondering.

I notice the email had 4 CC's all to hilton.com addresses. Not sure if they are all employees at this property or other parts of Hilton.

Here are my CX rules on the email

Rate Rules and Cancellation Policy:• Your reservation is guaranteed for late arrival.
• Please contact us should you need to cancel your reservation.
• Cancellations are required by 11:59 PM on XX Feb 2012 local hotel time. (my note > XX is the day before my scheduled arrival)
• Cancellation penalties may apply

Not sure if this was included in the rate rules when I booked, but trying to do a sample booking now on hilton.com this is included in the rate rules:

"We reserve the right to cancel or modify reservations where it appears that a customer has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity or under other circumstances where it appears that the reservations contain or resulted from a mistake or error."

I think I will, rightfully so, cause a fuss and see what they say. It doesn't seem like too many people booked this deal, so I can't see that it will cost them as much as other mistake fares have. But also easier for them to sweep under the rug, without honoring for fear of backlash.

Can anyone trying to check in please post the results, whether you got in at the $35 rate, a higher (but less than $89 rate), rec'd compensation of some sort or just walked from the property in disgust

today is the first day this was available I think

thx

Just got to the hotel 15 minutes ago.

Front desk manager was nice- but told me they would not be honoring it.

He contacted the GM who evidently has been talking with corporate and they decided to honor it.

I thanked him - as I was going to head to the Marriott next door.

Very nice guy. Very kind and understanding.

I had to be at BWI for a meeting anyway so this rocks!

Thank you OP.

compared to many eventually-honored deals.

Not as good as when they say nothing ( i.e. recent Hilton AUS )
but I suspect an accountant pointed out that
they are still making a profit considering
they received a quantity discount on the Andre'. :D

the GM probably honored it for you since you told the GM that you were doing a mattress run and wanted a stay credit.......

the GM probably didnt even give you a room key as he processed the check in and you went straight to the marriott next door

Sorry if the interpretation came across the wrong way. AFTER he stated that they would not honor it, I told him that I was disappointed and would go on to the Marriott next door.

He went away and came back and then said that they would honor it - and thanked me for being a Gold member. (So he saw this).

He actually was VERY nice and as he talked and checked me in stated that several of these cheap rooms had been sold for today (Valentine's Day) and that (of course) this had not been the intention.

So - I never went to the Marriott - and actually I was there to stay. Even had friends come over.

And of course, I am not a connoisseur of sparlkling wines BUT I had NO complaints.

I just completed a stay. I was aware of "the" e-mail, but thanks to Nickster's post decided to head there anyway. I checked in without mentioning anything about the rate. They did not say anything to me, but I noticed they seemed to be looking at the check-in screen a long time, so there was probably some message about the rate on their screen. No mention was made about the Romance package either when I checked in, but I wasn't worried about not getting the sparkly and chocolates.

The next AM I asked for a preliminary bill and it reflected the $35 rate, so I relaxed. That night (night#2), I got a call from room service asking if they could deliver the goodies. I actually got one more chocolate-covered strawberry than Nickster. Maybe because I didn't make a fuss at check-in );

So I think everyone can relax and enjoy their stay at the booked rate. Kudos to them for honoring it.

I actually have stayed at this hotel a few times in the past on the weekend to get stay credits. It can be had for low 70's to $80 on the weekend. The $89 rate for a midweek stay is actually still a nice rate for this hotel, especially for the package. They have a nice bar with some interesting items on the menu which I have really enjoyed in the past.

Exec lounge hours are Mon-Fri for breakfast 6:30A-10A. Sun-Thur 5P to 10p with Hors d'oeurves 5P-7P and complimentary beer (4-5 types) and wine (Copper Ridge) from 5P-8P. Breakfast coupons (for Diamond, not sure about Gold) for the restaurant on Sat and Sun AM good for $15, but accepted for full hot buffet.

So now something has come up and I won't be able to make it for my res. next week. What are the chances of getting them to give points instead of them honoring the room? I know they have been allowing people to check in with the $35 rate. I received the original email with the $85 offer.....can I play dumb and request points instead?
