Hilton HHonors - Every Hilton in The World is Currently Sold Out

What a website! I look up the five Montreal area hotels for a stay in a couple weeks: Hmmm, they're all sold out. So I start on a trip I've got upcoming to London. Wait! Every hotel in London is also sold out on the couple nights I need. I check NYC. Nope.

Off to Starwood........

You might not like this but I can say Hilton is sure enjoying it!! Full hotels are great to them.

If your Diamond, have you called the Diamond desk to see if you can get into the hotel with the Diamond Guaranty?

A couple of weeks ago, I had the same problem using the Hilton Hotels Internet web site, SST.

According to www.hilton.com (http://www.hilton.com) every property in the state of Tennessee was not available, as if they were sold out.

It must have been a problem with www.hilton.com (http://www.hilton.com) as I called reservations and was easily able to book the property at which I wanted to stay, and at a reasonable rate. I had no problems accessing other Internet web sites.

I checked the Hilton forum on FlyerTalk and did not find anyone else experiencing a problem similar to mine, so I just shrugged my shoulders and forgot about it.

SST, you might want to call Hilton on the telephone first before you reserve at another hotel chain’s property.

I think the point is that if Hilton can't get their act together and provide a reliable web booking engine, many customers will simply go to the competition whose online booking works.

Was it because you were looking at a date in 2003, before December 2003?

It could well be like when the airlines are loading new flights and fares into the system. Every flight is not available. You sometimes find that it happens at the same time every day or the same day each week. Likely just the system off line for something. You think they could put up a notice saying they will be off from X time to Y time, or something like that.

I hope you're joking! You didn't realize that this is a malfunction???????

This happens from time to time; there is suddenly NO availability at ANY property (even if there was just a few minutes before). But if you wait an hour or so and try again, you'll find there actually IS availability. Too bad the website doesn't just display an error message in cases like this, instead of putting out misleading information, which can drive good customers away.

What time exactly did you have this problem? (I see your post was 831MST) since I was able to check for two reservations and complete bookings, my confirming printouts say 1023EST and 1040EST.

I've been having the same problem as well.
The web site says full but when I call the Diamond desk, they say they have lots of rooms.

Indeed, if that had kept up, I suspect they would have *lots* of rooms.

It was just a momentary glitch with hilton.com: a while later, I checked it and everything worked fine.

Still, if I was the manager in charge of this web operation, I'd say neither Hilton nor Starwood's web operation are ready for prime time.

Yes, this happens from time to time. Definitely, an annoying malfunction!

What usually works for me in a case like that, is instead of clicking on "Book a room", I click on the hotel's name first, so it would open hotel's individual page. Just about every time in my experience I was able to make a booking from that hotel's individual page.

Just curious, Hilton.com is now having the lowest price guarantee stuffs, if you can book a cheaper priced hilton hotel on the other web sites, you can get $50.

Probably they are updating the system for this, and it comes out as a bug somewhere which will always show "fully booked" listing on it's website.

It's a shame the Paris Hilton porn video has better uptime than the hilton.com website.

Well the first thought that came to mind is that you did not mention the DATE all this problem was occurring on.

New Year's Eve for instance is in a "couple of weeks". Try getting rooms in many places for NYE unless you book many months ahead - AND pay rack rate.

Could be a web glitch of course, guess you'll never know.

I was in San Juan Puerto Rico a few weeks back. Had 3 nights at Hilton Ponce and 2 nights at Hilton Caribe behind us and we needed an extra night - THAT night.

Went to a web café and bought up every every Hilton brand within cooeee on the screen for that night and ALL showed zero availability in all room classes and prices and there are quite a few of all brands there. Did surprise me at the time, and I simply booked another chain. I'll never know if it was a web glitch or not either.

Did not occur to me it might be a glitch and to phone Hilton rez, so there is a firm booking they lost as I wanted a stay for a Hilton promo.

I experienced this problem once or twice and subsequently realized that it was caused by user error. Hilton changed the way their date drop down works a few months ago and I inadvertantly chose November 2004 instead of Nov 2003 when trying to secure a reservation. Every property showed no availablility. Once I realized my mistatke, I got what I needed. Although I must say that there are several Homewood properties that seem to never have availability when I check.
