Thinking of going for a couple of days next week during half term with my 14 year old to the water park in Therme Erding Munich flying from the UK. We will be in the clothed side!

HIX looks the closest and reviews not bad. HI looks too far out of the way. Or should I be looking at another hotel that's just a hop away and not a holiday inn that's nice.
Any tips on getting about and getting in to the park for the best price welcome!

Very nice spa and waterpark with three areas including large sauna area (which means over 16 and without clothes only!). There is enough to do for a 14 year old, particularily the water slide park.

The HIX is very remote in an industrial park, and I would suggest you stay in downtown Erding which has a great old town area. For example at the Hotel Erdinger Weißbräu, (http://www.hotel-erdinger-weissbraeu.de/cms/de/startseite.php) and take a taxi to and from the Therme.

I have moved this forum to the Germany forum (which is moderated by me as well). It might get more attention in this forum.

There is a redirect from the IHG forum for the next 7 days.

I've been several times to the Therme. Hotel Nummerhof, Hotel am Schlossberg, and Best Western Munich Airport are nice places, reasonably priced and all are about 5 minutes from the Therme. There is a very good Italian restaurant about 50 meters from the Best Western. If you want something a little more upscale, the Hotel Henry is about 8 minutes away.

I've never stayed at a hotel near Therme Erding, but the water park itself is abs:cool:lutely great!

I usually book my last 2 nights in MUC at the Best Western Hotel Muc Airport on Robert Koch Strasse (http://www.erdinghotel.de/index_en.html). They pretty good fares and it is within walking distance to Therme Erding. You will have to walk 10 minutes through a field, but there is a path. Otherwise, it's a 5 minute taxi ride.
