Right off JFK & Westshore. Right next to Mall with easy access to all of TPA. Nice rooms...they were clean and neat (if only a little dated). Staff was very pleasant. All rooms were on outer walls with huge atrium in center for restaurant and lobby/lounge area. No special Gold treatment to speak of... Hope this helps... pinniped Dec 1, 03, 9:28 pm My favorite Tampa-area HH property is the ES in North Tampa - near the University of South Florida. It is very clean and pretty new, and mostly populated with business travelers. The people are very nice and I have never had a problem during my stays there. Always a fairly quiet, peaceful place with the nice rooms you'd expect at a new Embassy Suites. I stayed at the one by the airport once and found it to be a bit busier and noisier, but otherwise okay. More of what you'd expect from an older airport hotel. I didn't have any problems with my stay. North Tampa worked for me location-wise, so I always gravitated to either the new Hampton or the ES up there. No experience with ES in Orlando. As the Embassy Suites setup is very family-friendly hotel, I would expect a lot of kids at the Orlando properties. isogyre Dec 2, 03, 2:35 pm The ES downtown Orlando is great! The staff are friendly, the rooms are large and clean, and they have a great happy hour, brekafast, and a restaurant on-site. The hotel is located downtown, so if you are planning on going to Disney, it may not be for you - it caters to business travelers, not tourist families with children.
