Chambord is enormous but a bit bare, Cheverny has great grounds and is furnished, Chenonceau is pretty and has a lot of history. Chenonceau can get quite crowded at peak times - it is popular, but not very large. Chambord and Cheverny are close together, but Chenonceau is about 40km away. The castle of Meung sur Loire is lovely and about 20 minutes away... http://www.chateau-de-meung.com/ |
